23/7/11- White Cliffs of Dover

Well, I'm back!

The holiday was fantastic, here is what happened. My Mom traveled over from Canada the first week of July, and on the 9th we departed on a Baltic cruise. The cruise left from Dover- located on the south east corner of England. Dover is where the ferries go to and from France. Dover is also known for its famous white cliffs.

From there the cruise went up north and around the following ports: Kiel, Warnemunde (Germany), Tallinn, St. Petersburg, Helsinki, Stockholm and Copenhagen.

Very amazing ports, and a great cruise. Will do a bit of blogging over the next week about the ports we were lucky to stop at.

  1. Wow, what a holiday! (P.S. I want to start calling my vacation a "holiday"... it sounds so much better). :D Can't wait to see more pictures!

  3. Sounds wonderful! I just re-read Tale of Two Cities with my high school seniors, and Dover is pretty central to those fleeing the Reign of Terror. I'd love to visit and tell the kiddos I've been there!

  5. I think I've always used the term 'holiday'- plus you can sing the Madonna song at the start of the trip. ha.

I've not read Take of Two Cities, but maybe should now that I've seen the cliffs...

Talli- you know being over here how close we are to these amazing countries- I must take advantage!
