Fishcakes are not something we eat in Canada- are they?
I was only introduced to them via my British partner (He's a chef extraordinaire). They are a nice light meal, or a good snack.
I made the Nigel Slater haddock fish cake recipe for dinner, along with some homemade sweet chili sauce.
Oh yum! I don't really recall having fishcakes at home but my homestay mom in Mexico made them for me quite a few times and I really loved them.
ReplyDeleteI love fishcakes!! Yours look heavenly and your homemade sauce!! I love the new look of the blog too!

ReplyDeleteI grew up on fishcakes (among other meals!), so maybe there is a Newfoundland-England-Irish connection of some sort?! Yours look super tasty and I love the salad choice. Yum!
ReplyDeleteOh, glad I've found some fishcake lovers!
ReplyDeleteThese were haddock, but I'd be tempted to try the salmon ones next time. Julie, I am sure there is a connection between fishcakes over here, and over to Canada- I mean, when you are so close to the sea (unlike Alberta) fish is a must!
They are very east-coast. I remember my first trip out to Halifax I was told of two places I just had to eat fish cakes. They are delightful. But not very Alberta.
